Africa is My Home follows the life of a woman of West Africa from birth through marriage. It presents the point of view of a representative, well-educated Christian nationalist. It explains the basic issues of resurrgent Africa: tradition versus progress; Islam versus Christianity; and independance versus colonialism. The film concludes with a discussion of the problems of economic reconstruction facing African communities. A major effectiveness of the film is found in its intimate first person narrative, and its use of indigenous music.
